Hi, I’m Susan Klingenberg.
An Adventure-seeking pastry lover, designer, founder and picnic enthusiast. Since 2016, I've worked in various roles in the construction industry:
Designing bespoke homes as a new home sales consultant
Assisting new home buyers with their Pre-start
Working with overseas investors on large-scale development projects

What I enjoy the most is designing dream homes. I consider it an absolute privilege to be invited into your home and be part of your building journey.
Why We Started Altivo Designs
As designers, we kept bumping into a common problem.
Many people believe interior designers only select pretty colours and materials, so when we join a new project, it's often too late for us to make any true design changes. Imagine us saying you should demolish a wall right after the team has built it!
Here are some of the difficulties we faced coming into projects too late:
Incorrectly sized rooms so nothing fits - no way of getting the furniture in, let alone walking around it when you do!
Incorrectly placed power outlets and lights - This can play a huge role while you are trying to use a cutting board and want to see your hands, plugging in your robotic vacuum cleaner installing heated towel rails, and the list goes on.
Garden, patio, pergola and outdoor living only being considered after construction.
Incorrect footings and retaining walls for pools and ponds, which significantly increase cost and complexity.
Incorrect wall, window and door placement affecting the furniture layout.
Fireplace location and installation are an afterthought.
Choosing materials that aren't fit for purpose.
Working with a Layout that doesn't flow or work for the client's lifestyle.
Trying to furnish an architectural home with a limited budget since the building cost blew out.
